Excerpt:
As the man looked toward her, Shanna felt the air leave her lungs with a gasp. He was a definite hunk. His blue eyes, veiled by thick black lashes, slowly inspected the damage on the cars. Instead of seeing anger on his face, she noticed a smile lifting his smooth lips over something Robert said to him. The amused grin brought a sudden fluttering sensation racing through her chest and she couldn't explain it. She'd never felt this way before, even with Robert.
When the stranger started walking toward the passenger side of Robert’s car, Shanna sucked in her breath and held it. Slowly, it left her body with a deep shuddering sigh. She rolled down the window and waited anxiously for his arrival. As he reached her, he placed his large hands on the metal frame.
"Are you all right?" he asked in a husky tone leaning his head into the opening and grinning at her.
On closer inspection, she saw how dimples sliced deeply along his cheeks. The sensuous sound of his voice sent tingles racing through her body. Never had she heard such a sexy tone coming from another person. She sniffed the air in appreciation as a pleasing scent of shaving lotion drifted in to her.
"Yes, I’m fine.” Suddenly, she felt all giddy and shy.
A foolish feeling washed over her as her heart hammered away inside her chest. She silently wondered if he could hear it. Of course, he couldn’t hear it, but this didn’t stop the embarrassment she felt over her reaction to him.
For several seconds, his gaze locked with hers and it took all the willpower she possessed to look away. She felt as if the smoky blue eyes watching her closely caused a sensation of drowning to fill her. Dropping her lashes, she tried hiding the intense enjoyment she found in just looking at him. When she built up the courage to venture another look at his face, she saw an interested expression filling his gaze.
"Have we met before?" She didn’t miss how his brow creased curiously.
"I don't think so.” She skillfully hid the quivering sound ready to spill from her.
Shanna couldn’t figure out these new set of developments happening to her as she looked over to where Robert stood. When he glanced in her direction, she didn’t miss his glowering gaze. She turned her head away and concentrated on the stranger.
There were only inches separating her from the blue-eyed man, and she could feel his warm breath caressing her cheek. She had an irrational urge to reach out and touch his smooth features with her fingertips. She couldn't come up with any logical reasoning behind her thoughts.
